Small commercial fishing boats lying alongside a harbour quay in grey morning light

Compiled on the quay · 487 suppliers to the UK fleet

Who will turn out
on a Sunday.

Netmakers, rope and wire, hydraulics, ice, engineers, merchants and survival training, listed by port and by whether anyone answers out of hours. A boat alongside earns nothing, so that last part is most of the point.

  • 487 suppliers listed
  • Out-of-hours numbers where they exist
  • Corrected by crews, not by us

The directory

Confirmed still trading this season

Why it exists

A tide lost is the expensive part

01

We print the mobile number, or we say there isn't one

Where a firm agrees, the entry carries the number that gets answered at four on a Sunday morning. Roughly one in five will not give it, and their entry says so plainly. Two suppliers have asked to come off the directory rather than have that printed.

02

Suppliers that have gone stay on the page

When the last ice plant on a stretch of coast shuts, deleting the entry helps nobody. We leave it with the date it closed and the nearest one that is left, which makes this directory look thinner than the ones that quietly tidy up.

03

Crews correct us and we print the correction

If four skippers tell us a firm has stopped travelling past the headland, that goes on the entry even where the firm says otherwise. It is the only way the thing stays true, and it is why some suppliers will not speak to us.

04

Six harbour trusts pay for it, and it costs them

No advertising, no lead fees. A processor offered us £40 an introduction and we said no. It also means that when a subscribing trust runs the slowest ice on the coast we print that too, and one of them has not renewed since.

A netmaker mending a trawl net on a harbour quay

“Hauler pump packed up on a Saturday with 300 pots still down and a forecast coming. Filtered hydraulics on my own coast with an out-of-hours number, two names came back, and the second one met me on the quay that evening with a pump off his own shelf.”

About this page

Everything above is a demonstration

The business, the listings and the reviews are invented — this page exists to show what someone could put on fishingindustry.co.uk. The domain itself is genuinely for sale.

Domain for sale

fishingindustry.co.uk is available

You are looking at a demonstration, not a real business. We built it to show what this domain could carry — the company, the stock and the reviews are invented.

  1. 1

    Make an enquiry

Tell us who you are and what you would use it for. It costs nothing and puts you under no obligation.

  2. 2

    Agree a price

We reply with a price or consider your offer. Most conversations are settled within a couple of working days.

  3. 3

    Pay into escrow

Funds go to a licensed third-party escrow agent, never straight to us. They hold the money until the transfer is confirmed.

  4. 4

    Take ownership

We push the authorisation code to your registrar. You control the domain, usually within a week; escrow then releases the funds.

The demonstration site is not part of the sale by default — but if you want it, say so in your enquiry and we will include the source.
